How Significant we are.

How Significant we are.

For a long time have been evolving . From single celled creatures to stubborn minded humans. From eco-friendly to ego-centeredly . We don’t know where we are headed to. Unravelling scientific mysteries can only give us more new questions. Morality wise , it is scary to imagine the future .

Maybe is this the way things are supposed to be?

While the law of Nature defines our existence (in general)
1.To be born
2. To absorb other molecules and grow.
3. Reproduce.
4. Die. And get recycled.

It doesn't expect anything more. It doesn't expect anything at all.

Who are we really? Where are we from? We are just another bunch of combination of molecules. We have no dominance over this beautiful art of combination of perfect little molecules. We are star dust. We are a part of a cycle. DNA to your hair. Everything is just perfect.

We humans start sucking big time, when we place our inventions before the powerful nature . When our minds begin valuing these inventions over the ever lasting cosmos , that’s when we lose to grasp the value of this existence. And feed our ego .

We become rich. We wish to be richer. We fight with people . We war. In the name of money. In the name of religion. In the name of opinions. We kill each other. We slaughter children. We contradict the actual purpose of a religion . We succumb to the fallacies of our inventions. We are undoing ourselves.

Only at the point where we transcend and think beyond the boundaries of man or his inventions and appreciate the vastness of the universe , we can live a life without regrets.

We are one of the greatest species ever. Yes I agree.
We humans do cool stuff. Okay .

Nature’s rules are cruel too.We have been fighting for survival. That is the natural instinct. We fight for wealth or resources. We keep causing unhappiness to others everyday. At the same time, scientifically, we grow. We are moving in a direction, simply hoping it to be forward.

Nature looks at these hopeless humans slaughtering each other no different than the viruses fighting for survival. And it takes nothing more than a moment for her to wipe all of us out . Back to molecules. Taking us Inside her.

We are not the most powerful . In reality we don’t even stand a chance.

So why can’t we live simpler ? Understanding that money is just another invention , necessary for life. And nothing more.

That is the message I wish to convey. Seek  science. When you have the passion or resources to do so.

Illusion of reality.

I am writing this from my personal experiences.

Endorphins are neurotransmitters, chemicals that pass along signals from one neuron to the next. Neurotransmitters play a key role in the function of the central nervous system and can either prompt or suppress the further signaling of nearby neurons.

Endorphins are termed as endogenous morphines. It is a mini self synthesised drug.  They are found to be released when people are gambling and it is the reason what makes people to continue gambling involuntarily [ to Yudhistra and whomsoever related] .

It is also associated with all the repetitive actions that give us temporary pleasures. And I firmly believe that it is the problem trending with the youth and their mobile phones.

Whatsapp and other messaging applications have not only killed the tradition of text messages but also has been affecting the psychological aspects of people . There is a fraction of populace not affected by these stuff. But many of us , including myself , have fallen into this trap.

Though whatsapp appears to improve our social relations , it is gradually making us struggle to deal with real humans in real life. Every single message sent to our crush(s) might have made us high ( with the release of Endorphins) and those nights spent with mobile phones might appear to be the best moments of our life. It is not. Real life is outside.

I was a victim. I was an addict. I have witnessed and observed the changes in my emotions, my behaviour and abnormalities in body.  Later I was forced to use a basic mobile phone without internet access due to repair of the previous one and I felt a difference . A really drastic one.

I decided to meet and speak to the people to whom I have chatted once . Except one or two, everyone deviated from who they were in the virtual world. Pheromones and body languages giveaway people who lie in the real world. But it is not the case in this virtuality. I started spending time with people directly , spoke with everyone and it taught me things and gave me confidence , which these applications can never give. It was an epiphany. I kept myself engaged with books , music , sports and other activities I used to enjoy once. More importantly I didn't feel the usual hate and frustration with people.

Now I have realised my mistake . I am not ashamed. It is our brain playing half of the game.  I pity my college mates spending their lives on their phones while walking , eating or during classes. This is what I mean to express. This is hard and equivalent to drug rehabilitation.

For those who feel college life monotonous , try living without mobile data for a month.
To revive your old habits like reading or sports try living without mobile data.
To strengthen a relationship or for reconciliation , try living without mobile data.
Look at the time you gain.

Whatsapp is a tool for communication. It is a fetish to be addicted to a tool. Use it as a tool to stay connected with people living far away. Don't let it ruin lives. Don't miss to live with wonderful humans around you . A pet can give you more happiness than some random stranger in your mobile phone.

When the purpose of religion fails.

From a scientific standpoint , there is no existence of God. But what does it make the religions to subsist for centuries?

Mind is always mysterious.Man worshipped everything that remained unknown to his knowledge, and scary. Right from natural / atmospheric entities. Until he started reasoning and questioning.

Religions evolved with a purpose of making life simple and easier for mankind. It teaches us simple thoughts on love and happiness. With my views on Hinduism , it is simply a fictional proposal to make people live a healthy life , both physical and mental. Hinduism is interlinked with ayurveda and yoga which can take care of your body.

A mind which cannot be controlled can become the most lethal weapon. Powerful minds have made and marred civilizations. Religion aims to control your mind and regulate it for better purposes. Visiting old age temples can give the solace you need. It helps to relieve you from bad thoughts . Though religion can be illogical often ,the Hindu mythology is splendid. Some people say that there is science and reason behind many aspects in Hinduism , which can be interesting if unravelled.
What is the best way to impart good qualities, perfect ideals , cleanliness + hygiene , peaceful thoughts along with music and art to the lives of millions? Religion with the help of mythology. It depends whether you choose the way of knowledge or you choose the way of ignorance in following Hinduism.  Knowledge is trying to understand the reason behind every aspect while ignorance is paving way for inane practices .

A young lad of this gen can feel cool to call himself an atheist. Seriously ,one does not need religion , if he has learnt to appreciate fellow lives of others. But an egoistic mind with no self control and apathy will never be helpful to anyone.

Then why do we need religion? Why cannot we move on the path of science and out of this illusion? It may be easy when things go smooth life. But majority of mankind need some strength to rest on at some point of their lives. Some faith to cling on. With hope that this mysterious being will get rid of their tough times. Hope is a beautiful thing. Despair can end lives. While hanging on to the last piece of hope will definitely help.

This is the age of Science. Where we have chosen to understand how everything happens and not to remain nescient. Let us aim to prevent the mistakes our forefathers have committed , like fighting and killing each other due to religions.  When you look at these religions, they are simply collections of ideals and thoughts. Why should one fight with another over something, which was intended to make lives peaceful?
Let there be two religions in our life.
1.       A religion to regulate our minds . Many options available.
2.       A religion which actually aims to understand nature and life , makes us question everything and improve lives of mankind . Science.

If you still feel the religions to appear complicated? Then go with Buddhism for saving time which teaches you principles in the most simplest way
But remember- Ideals and principles  + amazing mythology + music + art + a little science gives you Hinduism .
To my contemporaries. Let us spend more time with science while giving importance to the principles our forefathers passed us. Religion aims only for unity , peace and to make our mind regulated so that we can spend time how to deal with science and other wonderful things in life. It is illogical to get our life and time totally meddled with religion alone. And totally pointless to fight and argue among religions .

P.S: This is just me and my thoughts , I don't want a religious argument to pop out.

Free ya vidu maame

A few months back I was sitting in Saravana bhava , (Ashok nagar) with an " affordable" friend . It is indeed a place where all the veggies go, no matter how many times they get bored. And most of the traders carry on their business ,many a time loudly, over a cup of coffee and ruin the aura like a boss.

As usual I kept observing human behaviour before they served food. Chuck the phonewala youth, looking at the kids can make you smile.Next to my table were two guys in formal clothes persuading someone in his sixties , sitting opposite to them. That sixty year old someone was in full white clothing bedecked with gold . He looked like a modern day Egyptian Pharoah .The guys were trading shares it seemed. I will mention him as Tutankhamen.

Guy: Sir , you are our most important client. We will make sure this never happens again.

Tut : Dai ( in whispers and he was admonishing them with his index finger )

Guy: I am sorry Sir. It was just a confusion sir. No money has been lost.

Tut : Sipping the coffee like a villain.

Guy: Sir , sir ... There wont be a problem for you at all sir. Forgive us.

Tut: Do you know who I am? How rich I am? With whom you are messing with?
[ Slams the table with the fragile golden hands ] .

Suddenly we were experiencing the Vishwaroopam. Volume goes from level Manmohan Singh to Arnab Goswami .His tone was disturbing. A baby started crying. The situation became intense. He kept making calls and tried to shout his maximum. The waiter was waiting at the corner of the room , peeping at the table, too frightened to give the bill.

As my concentration shifted to the Paneer dosa brought to my table , I realized that my childhood was based on a lie. Money can make a life comfortable. It can buy you a coffee from Saravana Bhava and doesn't let you taste a drop of it . Such a bitch it is. Success gives money and money will not give you happiness. Not all the time.

And the rich part of the city is full of inflated egos in inflated bodies. When will people find happiness in forgiving others ? It takes a minute to forgive someone who realises his mistake and feels sorry for it. From electric trains , hotels, college and workplaces , if we impart the simple principle of " free ya vidu maame " , we can actually devote time for experiencing other wonderful things everyday.

We all are humans. I am another you. When we choose to destroy our egos and choose to be simple , we can perform with our complete potential and enjoy the present far better. Look at Yanni or ARR , look at Sachin , look how Thalaivar Rajnikanth chose to live.

Stop spending time for talking about the emotions of the people whom you don't care . And the people who you love , forgive them for their mistakes like your mother did to you. Let us live like the kid we were once. We certainly miss doing all the stuffs we did happily at age ten. Everything was so simple by then. We were uncorrupted by our egos and were happy for no reason.

Life is amazingly fast . When you see people fight with silly emotions and egos , move a step back and observe human behaviour. Trust me , it is fun to observe when compared to rolling in the mud with them. Or simply move on

Like my thala Mark Twain said , 'Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.'

Found this on the internet. Sums up everything .

Chennai Vaasi

After living in Chennai for a year and observing people from Electric trains to Saravana Bhava , I wish to write what I loved and what I despised about the Chennaiites.

Well, Chennai has become a mini-USA when we compare it with the diversity of people living here. The proportion of indigenous Chennai vaasis appears to be small and majority of them will be second generation dudes whose grandfathers might have settled here for bread.

From magnificent temples and churches , show off shopping malls, theatres , libraries and the second longest beach , what makes the city beautiful is its people , while some of them are actually living.

Chennai's definition differs when you shift from a place to another , like Tambaram to T.Nagar to Adyar then to Thiruvanmiyur etcetera. From ambience , to attitude, to lifestyle and the sea breeze. I am yet to roam more around this lovely city, maybe after Agni Natchathiram fry.

The energy of Chennai vaasis fascinates me . In most of the cases they aren't the kind of people who sit inside the walls and look out of the windows . Let it be cricket , let it be Yanni , let it be a book fair , let it be a New year or a new movie , people always unite. They never hesitate to mingle. I have observed this "mingling" only during kovil thiruvila and all in my hometown. The united force of Chennai makkal is indeed spectacular.
Chennai has been indeed influenced by the western world but it has not destroyed what had been existing already . Go to Sathyam or EA to find aimless teenagers trying their luck in being " da tight wear dude with trouser chick " or trouser dude and vice versa. Facepalms are never enough to make you feel better. Take a bus and spend an evening in Mylapore where you can find the kudumba paangu and an ideal Hindu locality with Malli poo plus paneer fragrance.

Two things make me pity the people. Actually the two kinds of people.

The hard toiling middle class , whose lives have been strictly routinised by the firms they are working for. The MNC's suck their lives by deceiving to give one. I never blame these people. I am proud of the struggle the parents put to raise their kids and to meet their expectations. And the amazing working mothers , who do twice the work than all the men. _/\_ . These guys may have a rigid life , but I just wish that they enjoy the nuances of life , everyday. The beauty of music. The colours of nature. Poetry. Art. Anything.

And the egoistic , loathsome and despicable people who have either made money out of corruption or inherited . I dont mind about the showing off part , but still I pity them. I pity them for their characteristic apathy .

They fail to recognize the dignity of labour. Not the posh cars or jewellery makes you qualified to slap a waiter in a restaurant. Whoever it may be , a plumber or an electrician , a cobbler or a waiter , an ice cream vendor or a cab driver , deep down we all are fucking humans. Try to respect people for who they are and not what they do.Period.

It is only the privileges , that has made your lives comfortable. Just think for a second when you see the kids on the road.

Reference from the Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald

"  In my younger and more venerable years my father gave me some advice that I've been turning over in my mind ever since.

"Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had."

I pity the rich and the richest. I pity their inability to see what I see and enjoy what I do. The rich seem to exist while the working class survive .

If you're wondering who actually tries to live in this city , Go to Marina on a New Year.
One who tries to destroy his ego and understands that he is another human being ,
One who values life, emotions and can empathise,
One who can spend a few minutes with nature ,
One who doesn't hesitate to lend his hand to someone in need ,
One who finds happiness in forgiving,
Actually lives.

And that would be the common makkal of Chennai. I have seen the rich beggar who blared the horns of his BMW while the auto driver in the front carries a person in his arms, fighting for life. These guys cannot and WILL NEVER know the essence of life. They will live and die in a Maya , comfortably. Nature maintains the good vs bad and happy vs sad equilibria beautifully in the singara chennai I have observed.

Pillayar Chuli

Having spent hours after every midnight on the web , for years, it has never struck me to write.
I always believed that I will do when it was the right time.

After years I am in a confused or rather perplexed state in life. At 3 hours past midnight , with abnormal levels of hormones, I decided to write whatever popped in my mind.

I am in a mysterious state. A mental " constipation " . Ahem. Eating bananas wont help me.
Everything that goes in mind , gets tangled. And I believe writing what I read, I learn , I observe and I experience will help me and my mind get untangled and uncomplicated. I will be happy if it puts a smile on a web crawler's face and it helps me out of this :-/ state.

My thoughts are not restricted to any particular plane or direction or topic. I write what I observe.

People , who choose to read this blog , are free to comment and correct me whenever possible. I definitely wish to improve and learn.

Getting inspired by an idea or a person is beautiful.
Inspiring someone is supreme.

I have started writing this blog after getting inspired by a person whose blogs have been one of the few sources of happiness these days and also because of the fact that have no idea what I am doing right now in college. It took a year for me to peep out of the routine and find that I have not been doing anything interesting . Writing has been sleeping peacefully in my to do list for a several years too.

Et voila.

Hope to make you feel happy for spending some time here in this blog.
Starting with my favourite quote

"The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing"
